🎉 After more than 20 years of planning, Phase 1 of the Red Rock Legacy Trail has finally broken ground! 🏜️🚧
What began as a community vision — one that Save Red Rock proudly helped launch by raising the first $12 million in grant funding — is now coming to life. This $100M+ project will create a safe, off-road, shared-use paved path for everyone to enjoy the stunning Red Rock Canyon.
We’re thrilled to see this incredible milestone and grateful to everyone who made it possible.

From all of us at Save Red Rock, have a safe and happy Fourth of July. 🇺🇸
If you`re heading into the canyon, please remember that fireworks aren`t allowed. It`s dry out there, and protecting this landscape means keeping it safe from fire. 🔥
Thanks for doing your part to keep Red Rock wild and well. Have a safe, joyful holiday!

Memorial Day is a special day in Red Rock Canyon. It’s a day of memories and miracles. First, it’s the day we honor our brave soldiers and ancestors who sacrificed so much for our lives and freedom, and second, it’s the day we celebrate the wonderful land that they saved for us. In Red Rock Canyon on this day in 2021, I was astonished to witness a huge natural rock fall in Oak Creek! At first I thought it was a helicopter. That’s what it sounded like, with a deep rumbling noise. I wish I had gotten video, but I was too caught off guard trying to figure out what it was, so here are the only three photos I got. Red Rock Canyon also blessed me with a rare sighting of a shy chuckwalla, a sunrise and moonrise at the same time, and signs of faith, hope, and joy, all on the same Memorial Day! Then today, Memorial Day 2025, I saw the cutest, most obedient tortoise I’ve ever seen out here! He crossed the road right where the sign said he was supposed to cross the road! I stood not too close by his side, not touching him, but making sure cars gave him wide berth to take his sweet time obeying the sign and crossing the road in peace, in one piece! #I❤️RR! #tortoiselover #chuckwalla #moonrise #sunrise #rockfall #memorialday #saveredrock #savenaturesmiracles #landofthefreebecauseofthebrave🇺🇸

Today, we had the honor of celebrating a very special moment for Save Red Rock—our board member Pauline was recognized with the Compassionate City Award at a beautiful reception at city hall.
This award acknowledges individuals who lead with empathy, serve with purpose, and uplift their communities. Pauline embodies all of this and more. Her tireless efforts to protect Red Rock Canyon, build community partnerships, and advocate for sustainability have left a lasting impact—not just on the land, but on the hearts of those who know her.
The room was filled with community leaders, changemakers, and supporters who came together to honor this year’s recipients. It was a moving reminder of the power of compassion and the importance of leading with love and integrity.
We are so proud of Pauline and grateful to have her guiding our mission. Please join us in congratulating her on this well-deserved recognition—and thank you to everyone who supports Save Red Rock and the people behind it. Compassion truly drives change.
At our recent Save Red Rock Star Party, we were honored to have a member of the Las Vegas Astronomical Society share his handmade telescope — and it was a showstopper! 🌌👀
