We got our hands dirty for a good cause 🌱
Save Red Rock and Friends of Red Rock came together on Earth Day for a seed ball event to help restore and protect the natural beauty of Red Rock Canyon. These small but powerful seed balls will support native plant growth, local wildlife, and a stronger desert ecosystem.

🌼 May Day at Red Rock 🌼
May Day is a reminder that it’s spring again. At Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area, that shows up in simple ways—some desert plants starting to bloom, more movement from wildlife, and the landscape looking a little less dry and a little more alive.
It’s also the start of Bike Month—a perfect time to get outside, hit the trails, and take it all in. 🚴♂️🌿
Over 20 years in the making...yesterday we were proud to join County officials, BLM and other stakeholders to officially open Phase 1 of the Red Rock Legacy Trail!
🌵 Phase 1, the first ~ 1 mile of this 19 mile, multi-use, paved trail is now available for use.
🥳 Celebrate with us by sharing how you plan to use it. Jogging in from Summerlin? Riding safely along SR-159? Walking your pup with Vegas`s best view?
❓Learn More about this phase and its future at RedRockLegacyTrail.com
Did you know the desert tortoise can store up to 40% of its body weight in water—basically carrying its own emergency supply through the desert?🏜️
It also spends about 95% of its life hiding in underground burrows to stay safe from extreme temperatures, and it can survive freezing winters ❄️
and scorching summers 🔥 by carefully regulating its body and retreating to those burrows when conditions get extreme!
🌎 This Earth Day, we’re taking action to protect a critically endangered sunflower found only in Red Rock Canyon—fewer than 1,000 remain. 🌻
Through the Sunflower Project, we’re raising awareness and pushing for the protection this species urgently needs. Get involved, donate to the project today!
