Discover the secrets of Mars and learn how scientists study meteorites to uncover the planet’s volcanic history. Telescope viewing will be provided by the Las Vegas Astronomical Society, along with fun activities for kids.

Our Star Parties are part of a larger goal to obtain an “Urban Night Sky” designation from DarkSky International for Red Rock Canyon NCA.
We’re raising $20,000 in 2026 to:
- Expand Nighttime Programs: including more Star Parties and Night Hikes
- Purchase Essential Supplies: like red lights and educational materials
- Collect Data: that supports the completion of our application
- Retrofit DarkSky Approved Lighting: all throughout the NCA to preserve nocturnal ecology and the night experience
