The Red Rock Canyon Marker North sign unveiled its new home this morning at 8:00am.
It now sits in a parking lot west of its previous unpaved location, moved to improve safety for visitors who stop to take photos. The new paved area is part of Phase 1 of the Red Rock Legacy Trail Project. The full trail — spanning nearly 19 miles — will be built in five phases and is designed to provide a safe, accessible way for bicyclists and pedestrians to experience Red Rock.
It will connect the entire conservation a rea from the edge of Summerlin in the north to Blue Diamond Road in the south. Clark County Commissioner Justin Jones and representatives from partner agencies participated in the unveiling. Back in July, KNPR looked to the progress being made on the Red Rock Legacy Trail.
