The project continues to gain momentum, with significant progress across both phase 1 construction and the design phases for the trail’s future segments.

The New Red Rock Sign is a Hit!
On November 25, 2025, a major milestone was completed: the Red Rock Canyon NCA sign was successfully relocated. The adjacent parking lot is open and provides a safer experience for visitors. The new location offers a spectacular backdrop for your photos!

Trail Phases are Advancing
- Phase 1 is officially under construction. We’re excited to see this segment taking shape.
- Phase 2 is rapidly progressing, with the team aiming for a 95% design review ready in March.
- Phases 3 and 4 are both on track to have their 30% design drafts ready for review by the design team and partners in May.
- Phase 5 design work is moving steadily, currently heading toward a 70% design completion.
NEPA Documentation Underway
Critical environmental review is also progressing. Draft NEPA (National Environmental Policy Act) reports for Phases 2-5 are tentatively slated for completion in April. Please note that a few external factors may influence this exact completion date, but the work is moving forward.
Trail FAQ’s
We’ve been getting lots of questions about the trail’s construction and usage, so our team is hard at work collaborating with BLM and the county to offer an official FAQ which is soon to be published on our website.
Support our work!
Donations help to fund our important mission of preserving, protecting and enhancing the natural, cultural, recreational and scenic resources in and around Red Rock Canyon NCA. It takes lots of work to collect and share this important information with you as well, so please consider supporting the community advocates who keep you well informed!
Thank you for your continued support and excitement for the Red Rock Legacy Trail. Stay tuned for our next update!
