This Tuesday, October 4, at the Clark County Government Center, Commissioners will hear an application by Gypsum Resources for the first phase of a large scale housing development on top of Blue Diamond Hill in the middle of Red Rock Canyon. This phase alone is 429 houses.
This application not only appears to violate county code and previous legal agreements, it also requests access off of the Red Rock Canyon Scenic Byway, SR 159. Scenic Byway 159 is already struggling with rapidly increasing traffic and hazardous conditions.
Please let the commissioners know how much you care.
WHAT CAN WE DO?
1-SIGN THE PETITION,
2-WRITE YOUR COMMISSIONERS,
3-WEAR RED FOR RED ROCK AT THE MEETING, AND
4-TESTIFY FOR YOUR CANYON.
Join us this Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. at the Clark County Government Center, 500 S. Grand Central Parkway, Las Vegas, NV 89155, to call on County Commissioners to Keep Red Rock Rural and Protect the law!
The comment period has ended.
But what about property owner rights?
Save Red Rock respects property owner rights and will never do anything to stop or delay property owners from developing according to their rights. However, it is our understanding that this application does not follow Clark County Development Code and the 2010 Settlement Agreement.
View the detailed application here.
We look forward to presenting your name on the petition and seeing you at the hearing on Tuesday.
