Send a Thank You

But first, stick your hand out and pat YOURSELVES on the back, as active members of the BLUE DIAMOND COMMUNITY, the LAW ENFORCEMENT COMMUNITY, the CYCLING COMMUNITY, and all other patrons of RED ROCK CANYON devoted enough to follow this issue and take a stand.  Your continual support to the endless emails, meetings, phone calls, and letters, is what drives this issue so effectively to the public eye.  Stay posted and keep those good letters and testimonies coming.  And thanks, especially to those of you who responded to the most recent call for your public testimonies.  It takes a lot of dedication to spend your morning at the state building, but it works!  Together we can move mountains (or at least make them safer:)

Zane Marshall is the cyclist who approached the senate with this issue.  Senator Shirley Breeden is the senator who responded with Senate Bill 240 and saw it all the way to law.  Bobbie McCollum is her assistant.  Susan Martinovich is the Deputy Director at NDOT who helped create the 50 mph solution. Mary Martini is the Southern Nevada District Engineer who comes to the public meetings, initiated the safety charettes, and follows through with the safety improvements.  Erin Breen is the UNLV public safety consultant, and Minta Albietz is the widow of the respected officer, our beloved friend and neighbor, Don Albietz, who’s life became the driving inspiration behind this cause.  Her courage impacted everyone at the hearings.

Also, these additional legislators helped by co-sponsoring the bill, (but their emails are not in use between sessions), and every member of both the senate and the house voted unanimously in favor of this bill!
