Good Morning Heather,
I just stubbled across your website and I wanted to send a quick note:
Thank you for you efforts to bring safety to such a crazy place. My wife and I moved to Vegas (northwest ANN/95) about two years ago, and I have LOVED learing new routes and trails. I ride a road bike (04′ Allez), as well as a Harley (93′ Spriger Softail) so road conditions and rider safety are my primary concern. Plus, I drive out to Blue Diamond as often as possible (07′ Stumpjumper FSR). Love that bike. Thank GOD for good friends, and the former teacher sign on bonus.
I was shocked the first time I drove the Mt. Charleston highways; at it’s beauty, it’s powerful elavation changes, it’s dynamic vegitation and the fact that their were no shoulders. I have pedaled, drove and rode the highways many times (including hiking and snow fun) since we moved here and I’m always nervous at some point.
I realize shoulders up 158 would unreasonable, with cost and room, but there is no reason shoulders could not be added on most of 157 and 156. I would like to help and support anything or anyone that can call attention to this issue. I plan to subscribe to the updates and help where I can.
Thank you for your time and congratulations on your accomplishments.
Sincerely,
Shannon Fincher.
