If you’ve ever visited Red Rock Canyon, you don’t need me to tell you that this special place deserves permanent protection. But if anti-environment members of Congress have their way, privately-held land next to the conservation area could be auctioned off to the highest bidder.
Tell Senators Harry Reid and Dean Heller to protect Red Rock Canyon.
For nearly 50 years, the Land and Water Conservation Fund has enabled Nevada and other states to protect and expand places like Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area, without using a single tax-payer dollar.1 But now, some members of Congress are trying to kill this successful program. Last week, a House subcommittee proposed slashing the Land and Water Conservation Fund to a mere 7% of what it’s intended to receive annually.
Will you join me in urging Senators Reid and Heller to protect Red Rock Canyon by fully funding the Land and Water Conservation Fund?Decimating the Land and Water Conservation Fund would be a serious blow to conservation efforts in Nevada and across the country.
Sens. Reid and Heller can stand up for Nevada’s open spaces by supporting a bill that will preserve the Fund permanently. But with so much at stake, we need them to act now.

Thousands of people visit Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area each year to hike, rock climb and marvel at the beauty of Nevada. You and I know that our open spaces are priceless – let’s make sure that Sens. Reid and Heller act accordingly. Thanks for being with us,
