OUTDOOR NEVADA DAY PROCLAMATION

WHEREAS, since 1968, Vegas PBS Channel 10 continues to serve the residents of Southern Nevada through its mission, to create an informed and engaged community through high-tech, high-touch experiences that educate and empower individuals and organizations; and 

WHEREAS, as a member-supported public television service to the community, Vegas PBS has been able to create Outdoor Nevada, a local, Emmy award-winning television series that explores the places, people, wildlife, history, events and issues that make up Nevada’s statewide outdoor wonders; and 

WHEREAS, the intended outcome of Outdoor Nevada and Vegas PBS is to increase statewide knowledge and understanding of the ecology, history, cultural significance, wildlife, recreation, industry, conservation and preservation of Nevada’s natural environment and to increase the public’s engagement in related travel and tourism activities within Nevada; and 

WHEREAS, Clark County supports outdoor recreational activities, cultural advancement and tourism opportunities for all its residents; and 

WHEREAS, The Board of Commissioners for Clark County wishes to affirm its commitment to supporting educational programming such as Outdoor Nevada and other local programming produced by Vegas PBS; 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Commissioners for Clark County that June 12, 2021 shall be proclaimed as

OUTDOOR NEVADA DAY
