Save Red Rock is partnering with artist Shanté Lomprey to raise funds to help preserve the beauty and serenity of Red Rock Canyon. Lomprey’s original artwork, “Red Rock in Winter” is a 24×36” acrylic on canvas depicting a stunning, snow-dusted Escarpment. Worth more than $5,000, the one-of-a-kind commissioned work will be available on SaveRedRock.com for auction beginning Saturday Nov. 16 (Red Rock Canyon’s Birthday). Bidding will continue through mid-December and conclude just in time for the holiday season.
“Contemporary landscape art is my speciality, and I’m proud and honored to support the fundraising goals of Save Red Rock by doing what I love,” states Lomprey. “I really believe in the importance of supporting public lands for future generations, and am glad we have a protector like Save Red Rock to carry out that mission.”
Donations to Save Red Rock go towards helping to protect the beloved canyon in a time when a planned non-rural housing development and continued drought forecast dangerous threats to the natural and visitor experience. As a sanctioned 501(c)(3), contributions are tax deductible and come with a membership offering advocacy and volunteer opportunities.
“Nature and art are perfect companions,” explains President of the Board Heather Fisher. “America’s first and most-visited NCA serves as an inspiration to all of us, and we thought it would be a great way to raise awareness and funds for our cause.”
