LAS VEGAS (AP) — More than 1,000 bicyclists worldwide participated in a virtual ride in memory of five cyclists recently killed in a crash in Nevada.
Las Vegas TV station KLAS reported that cyclists logged onto a virtual cycling platform to ride together Saturday.
During the more than 2 ½-hour ride, more than $15,000 was donated to support the families of those impacted by the Dec. 10 crash south of Boulder City on U.S. 95.
Following the crash, cycling advocacy groups came together to establish the Las Vegas Cyclist Memorial.
Organizers said the goal is to raise $1 million to support the families of the five cyclists killed and more than $200,000 has been raised so far.
