I’m an avid cyclist and hiker who frequents the great outdoors in our valley, including Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area. After reading that Clark County brought a lawsuit against the grass-roots organization Save Red Rock, I’m concerned the actions of the Clark County Commission oppose public opinion.
Why would tax dollars be used to sue a group that is fighting to protect one of the most precious natural resources of the American Southwest? A better use of public funds and effort would be to join shoulders with Save Red Rock and their supporters to ensure Red Rock is protected from scarring development for years to come. Let’s take the momentum of the Tule Springs and Gold Butte protections and lock in Red Rock as a pristine recreational and economic landmark.
