Preserving Our Beautiful Canyon
The US Forest Service and Save Lovell Canyon are looking for volunteers to help clean up Lovell Canyon for our Fall Mountain Cleanup on November 12, 2016 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Lovell Canyon is located on the west side of the Spring Mountain range in the La Madre Mountain and Rainbow Mountain Wilderness areas. This hidden jewel contains old growth trees, rare plant species, and supports the life of big horn sheep, elk, deer, fox, bobcats, coyote, and many more. Enjoy the fresh, cool mountain air while making a clean and safe sanctuary for the animals and people who come to immerse themselves in the heavenliness of this environmentally sensitive area. Come join us as we give this rare treasure some much needed TLC.
We will be cleaning the entrance to Lovell Canyon where there is an accumulation of microtrash and debris. Please bring rakes, gloves, buckets, water, and food. Wear long pants and closed toe shoes.
Directions:
West 13 miles on Hwy. 160 (Blue Diamond Road) from the corner of Hwy. 159 and Hwy. 160. Lovell Canyon Road is three miles past Mountain Springs. Exit on your right. We will be meeting at the entrance to Lovell Canyon Road.
Thank you for making our corner of the world a better place.
